Chaibasa Police Probe Alleged Tractor Scam Linked to Piped Water Scheme

Police are interrogating two men after 30 tractor owners accused them of hiring over 70 tractors for the 'Nal Jal Yojana' (piped water project) and selling them off after paying rent for only 2-3 months in Chaibasa, people familiar with the developments stated on Saturday.
JAMSHEDPUR:
"No FIR has been registered in the case yet. The tractor owners and villagers have handed over two people from Chaibasa to the police. They are being interrogated. About 30 people have provided their contact numbers and tractor details. Most of the cases are from the Majhgaon police station (PS) area. The investigation is ongoing," Tarun Kumar, officer-in-charge (OC) of Chaibasa (Sadar) PS, told HT on Saturday.
