Three police officers have been suspended in Maharashtra's Thane after they allegedly extorted money from a couple who were visiting the city, an official said on Saturday.

A suspension order was issued on Friday, May 2, citing that the trio's actions were "not in keeping with the discipline of the police force" and had brought "disrepute to the department", the police official said.
