Heavy rainfall across Rajasthan has thrown normal life out of gear, claiming lives, disrupting transport, and damaging infrastructure in multiple districts.

With flood-like conditions reported in several parts of the state, schools have been shut, train routes diverted, and emergency response teams pressed into action, officials aware of the matter said on Monday.

In Pali, a man was electrocuted while navigating waterlogged streets as two days of continuous downpour have turned roads into rivers, inundated homes and shops. The district administration declared a holiday for all government and private schools, including Kendriya Vidyalaya, as a precautionary measure. Railway tracks and underpasses in the areas such as Sarvodaya Nagar have been completely submerged.

Pali district collector LN Mantri and superintendent of police Chunararam Jat have inspected the worst-hit areas. “Nearly 7 inches of rainfall has been recorded so far. Drainage teams have been activated, and all officials have been instructed to stay on the field,” said Mantri.
