2 Killed as Illegal Mine in Bhilwara Collapses

Two labourers lost their lives after being trapped under debris when an illegally operated mine collapsed in Bhilwara on Wednesday, officials familiar with the matter said, adding that the bodies were recovered on Thursday morning.

"The incident happened on Wednesday at 6 pm when a huge rock fell inside the mines from the upper section. The mine was about 150-foot-deep. The two labourers, who have been working to clear some stones inside, got stuck under the debris," said Megha Goyal, Mandal DSP.

According to the officials, the local civic bodies and police officials rushed to the spot upon receiving the information of the incident. "It took over nine hours to take out the bodies."
