{ KHARGE ON PARTY FOUNDATION DAY } 'Cong an ideology, will never die'

The Congress is an ideology and ideologies never die, party president Mallikarjun Kharge said on Sunday as he highlighted the party's contributions in shaping the nation's journey on the 140th anniversary of its foundation.
Echoing the sentiment, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi described the party as "the voice of India's soul"."Today, on Foundation Day, I want to clearly say one thing to those who say 'the Congress is finished'. I want to tell them that our power may be less, but our spine is still straight. We have not compromised; not with the Constitution, not with secularism and not with the rights of the poor. We may not be in power, but we will not bargain," Kharge said, addressing Congress leaders and workers during the party's foundation day event.
He added: "Congress is an ideology - and ideologies never die," adding, "This is not a fight for elections. This is a fight for the soul of India. And Congress is fighting this battle because, If Congress doesn't fight, who will save the Constitution? Who will save this democracy?"
