Piastri, Norris Determined to Break Verstappen's Hold
Hindustan Times Patna
|June 01, 2025
Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris have just three points between them at the top of Formula 1 as the McLaren pair aim to break Max Verstappen's hold on the Spanish Grand Prix this weekend.
MONTMELO:
Verstappen has driven his Red Bull to victory at the race held north of Barcelona for the last three seasons, using the high-speed track as a stepping stone toward his haul of four straight world championships so far.
But McLaren has put Verstappen's reign in Spain—and overall title hopes—in jeopardy.
Piastri and Norris have won six of the eight races so far, building on McLaren's constructor championship from last year. Now the question is if—or when—one of them will emerge as the team's best shot to dethrone Verstappen for the driver's title.
Verstappen has won two races this year and is the only driver to stop a McLaren sweep so far. Piastri leads the standings with 161 points, with Verstappen third with 136.

Development and clean air are not binary choices
Last week, the Supreme Court of India handed developers a surprising reprieve in Confederation of Real Estate Developers of India (CREDAI) v. Vanashakti & Ors. 2025. In a 2:1 verdict authored by former Chief Justice of India BR Gavai and Justice K Vinod Chandran (with Justice Ujjal Bhuyan dissenting), the Court reopened the door to ex post facto environmental clearances (ECs), i.e., approvals granted to a project after construction has already begun, without the mandatory prior environmental scrutiny.

Tired of travel stress? The Airport Divorce is the couple's hack you need
Let’s face it: travel is beautiful, but airport logistics? They're a stress test worthy of a reality TV show. If you and your sweetheart have ever gone head-to-head over boarding times, the mind-numbing security line shuffle, or a last-minute gate change, you're in the majority. That pre-vacation bliss can quickly turn into a chaotic 'who-yelled-at-who-first' situation right in the middle of the terminal.
