Oppn plans drive against SIR at grassroots, will 'rejig' manifesto

The coordination committee of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) headed by leader of the Opposition in Bihar assembly Tejashwi Yadav, on Saturday asked for an intensive campaign to mobilise people's support against the Election Commission of India’s bid to “disenfranchise the marginalised sections”.

The panel is also likely to “tweak” draft manifesto for upcoming polls to reflect ground realities of Bihar.

“The campaign subcommittee of the coalition has been asked for strategies to reach out to the maximum people from the district to block and panchayat levels. The meeting focused on the coalition’s manifesto, seat-sharing and campaign plans, showcasing a united front against the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), said a senior leader of the Congress party, who is also a member of the coordination committee.

The meeting was held at RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav's residence at | Polo Road, which was attended by leaders from the Congress, left parties and the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP).
