AAI team from Delhi to reach today for obstacle survey of Bihta airport

A team from the Airports Authority of India (AAI), Delhi, will reach Patna on Tuesday to conduct an obstacle limitation surface (OLS) survey for the Bihta airport, a defence aerodrome in Patna, said airport officials on Monday.
PATNA:
The survey is technical work, involving mapping the airspace around an aerodrome or a prospective aerodrome to assess possible infringements and recommend actions to remove or reduce obstacles.
"A team from the AAI will be here for a week from February 18 for OLS survey of the Bihta airport. It will submit its report to the AAI headquarters in Delhi, which will then be shared with the state government," said Uma Shankar, director, Patna airport.
The state government is expected to remove encumbrances in the approach funnel of an aircraft so that the full runway length can be utilised for landing of aircraft at the Bihta airport.
