IVF racket: Ggm cops to probe Delhi hosp links

GURUGRAM: The Gurugram police are investigating whether the recently sealed illegal in vitro fertilisation (IVF) centre in Sushant Lok Phase 1 had colluded with private hospitals, ultrasound clinics, and IVF centres in Delhi to lure donor women, officers said.
The centre was busted on June 27 in a joint raid by the Haryana health department and city police. It allegedly ran a cross-border surrogacy racket catering to couples from India, China, and Australia. Police have identified the centre's owner as Manju Sharma, who is yet to be arrested.
During the raid, police found a woman from Delhi who had allegedly come to donate her ova in exchange for money. A subsequent probe revealed she had been referred to the centre by a private hospital in Dwarka Sector 11, which also has an IVF facility there.
