It's The Best Medium For Acting: Rashami On Theatre Debut

After years in television, films and more recently OTT, Rashami Desai has now added theatre to her repertoire. Having debuted with the Gujarati play Mrs Mara Online Che, the actor describes this phase of her career as "a new beginning." She tells us, "This is the best possible medium for acting—you learn the craft like never before. I'm loving every bit of it."

Now, a month into performing live, Rashami acknowledges that stage plays come with their own set of challenges. "The biggest pressure is the fact that it's a live audience. In other mediums, you can have multiple cuts and retakes. But in the theatre, the first and only attempt has to be perfect. You need a lot of practice and coordination with other actors, since the stage remains the same."
