If not them, then who killed our kids, ask victim families

Families of the Nithari killings' victims on Tuesday said they were "not surprised" by the Supreme Court's acquittal of Surendra Koli, which paved the way for his release, but found it hard to accept that neither Koli—who worked as a domestic help at the time — nor homeowner Moninder Singh Pandher was guilty.

- Arun Singh

The mother of a 10-year-old girl victim was inconsolable after hearing the verdict. “All of them out there are blind. We knew he would be released as everything is under the control of money. Why is no one asking who committed the crime? If they (Koli and Pandher) are innocent, why were they kept behind bars for so many years?” she said.

Her husband shared her anger. “They (investigating agencies) should have found out who did the crime, if not Koli or Pandher. The court should have taken action against the officers who botched up the investigation,” he said.
