Two relatives held for killing family of 5 in Meerut: Police

A day after the bodies of a couple and their three minor daughters were found inside their home in Meerut, police have detained two relatives along with some other people while the key suspect, the stepbrother of the deceased man, remains absconding, officials said on Friday.

The couple, Mohd Moin and Aasma, and their daughters Afsah (8), Aziza (4), and Adeeba (1), were found dead in their home in the densely populated Suhail Garden neighbourhood of Lisari Gate police station area of Meerut at around 8.30 pm on Thursday.

"Based on a complaint filed by the relatives of the deceased woman, a case has been registered against three named accused and some unidentified persons. Two named suspects and several others have been taken into custody for questioning," senior superintendent of police (SSP) Vipin Tada said, according to PTI.

While the bodies of the husband and wife were found wrapped in bedsheets, those of their three children were stuffed in the storage compartment of a bed.
