Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday evening chaired a meeting of the central election committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to finalise the candidates for the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. The party is set to release its first list of candidates on Monday.

The meeting, held at the BJP headquarters in the national capital, included Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and Dharmendra Pradhan; party president JP Nadda; and national general secretary Vinod Tawde ‘who is also in charge of the state.
