LU VC Prof Alok Rai to take charge of IIM-C next month

Lucknow University vice-chancellor Prof Alok Kumar Rai on Tuesday confirmed that he will take charge of the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta (IIM-C) next month. This was his first reaction a week after an official notification related to his appointment as the new director of the institute appeared in public domain.

“Still figuring out the exact date of joining the ITM-C, but will certainly take up the new posting next month. I must keep three institutions in loop - LU, IIM-C and Banaras Hindu University. Iwas on a deputation to LU after taking leave from BHU...will get my leaves sanctioned for the next deputation (IIM-C),” said Rai. Many faculty members spoke about this at the executive meeting of Lucknow University Teachers’ Association on Tuesday.
