Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday reiterated his call of "whoever challenges us (jo humein chedega)", in an apparent reference to Operation Sindoor, and drew supportive calls from the gathering at a religious event in New Delhi.

NEW DELHI:

Speaking at the centenary celebrations of Jain spiritual figure Acharya Vidyanand Maharaj Ji's birth anniversary at Vigyan Bhawan, he also referred to the preceding speech of a Jain seer, noting that he was apparently blessing Operation Sindoor.

As he began saying, "Whoever challenges us (Jo hume chedega...)", the crowd completed the sentence with slogans of support.

In response, Modi remarked, "I am among followers of non-violence... and I had only said half the sentence... but you completed it... what I mean to say is, even if you did not say it in words, you were giving your blessings to Operation Sindoor."

PM Modi asserted that India is a country where service and humanity is central to its ethos.
