Wholesale inflation, as measured by the Wholesale Price Index (WPI), slowed to 0.13% in September, driven by deep deflation in food prices, according to data released by the ministry of commerce and industry on Tuesday.

The September WPI print comes after the index expanded by 0.52% in August, after contracting for two months by 0.19% and 0.58% in June and July, respectively. Ona sequential (month-on-month) basis, however, WPI contracted by 0.19%, compared to an expansion of 0.52% in August.
