Student raped on college premises in Bengaluru

A 20-year-old student was allegedly raped by her junior on the premises of their private engineering college in Bengaluru, police said on Friday, adding that the accused has since been arrested.

According to police, the incident took place on October 10 when the victim, a seventh semester student, met the accused during lunch break to collect study materials. The accused, a year junior to the victim, had allegedly asked her to meet him near the architecture block on the seventh floor, where he tried to force himself upon her. When the victim resisted, the accused allegedly dragged her to the men’s washroom on the sixth floor and raped her.
