NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday slammed the Delhi Airport Metro Express Private Limited (DAMEPL) for refusing to refund the amount paid by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) as per a court order from April last year. The court has given four weeks to the company to implement the order.
DAMEPL is a subsidiary of Reliance Infrastructure. The court was hearing a contempt petition filed by DMRC challenging DAMEPL's non-compliance of a direction issued on April 10, 2024, according to which a 2017 arbitral ruling in favour of DAMEPL was overturned in a curative petition.
