HC Slams Assam Inaction Over Rat Hole Mines

The Gauhati high court on Tuesday pulled up the Assam government for "not taking any action to stop" the practice of rat hole mining in the northeastern state as it issued notices to the government seeking a status report on action taken in the wake of several accidents in the last few months.
