Fortis Sets Up Open Genome Database

Fortis Healthcare on Tuesday launched an open genomic health registry — the Fortis Institute of Genomic Medicines — aimed at building a publicly accessible database of genetic insights from patients across India to aid precision medicine and research.
NEW DELHI:
Health experts at the launch said the registry will initially store data from 850 tested samples, with patient consent, and is expected to support research in oncology, cardiology, neurology, and rare disease prevention.
