IIT (BHU) at forefront of India's e-vehicle battery innovation mission

The Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), government of India, has selected IIT (BHU) Varanasi as one of the seven key nodal centers (e-nodes) under its Mission for Advancement of High Impact Areas in Electric Vehicles (MAHA-EV) initiative.
VARANASI: This selection emerged from a pool of 227 proposals received nationwide.
IIT (BHU) will lead a national facility dedicated to studying battery degradation and its solutions, aiming to develop safe, sustainable and efficient battery systems. The mission will operate under the banner "Te-MobiX (Tropical e-Mobility Excellence)." The government of India has awarded IIT (BHU) a competitive research grant of Rs 55 crore to establish a National Facility for Battery Research at the institute.
