CM Seeks Financial Aid From PM For Geothermal Energy Project

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Monday and sought financial help for the exploitation of geothermal energy in the state, officials aware of the matter said.
DEHRADUN:
The chief minister informed the Prime Minister that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been proposed in collaboration with the Iceland embassy for the exploitation of geothermal energy in the state. The necessary no-objection letter has been received from the ministry of environment, forest and climate change, ministry of new and renewable energy and ministry of external affairs for the proposed MoU, they further said.
The CM requested the PM to provide all technical and financial support to the state government for this project, so that Uttarakhand can play an important role in achieving the goal of carbon net zero by the year 2070, the officials added.
