Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that the reforms in agriculture and farming sectors undertaken by the Union government in the last 11 years have begun to show results, but for speedy development of the country, these sectors will need to be strengthened further.

- HT Correspondent

PM Modi made the remarks as he launched two major agricultural schemes with an outlay of ₹35,440 crore to boost pulses production and improve the farm sector growth in 100 low-performing districts. The two schemes - PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana with an outlay of ₹24,000 crore that aims to transform agriculture across 100 districts; and a ₹11,440-crore Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses - will transform the fortunes of millions of farmers in India, he added.
