KM Birla given honorary London University degree

Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, received an honorary Doctor of Science (Economics) degree from the University of London in recognition of his contributions to industry and philanthropy.
Princess Anne, the Princess Royal and university chancellor, presented the award during the university's Foundation Day celebrations at Senate House, London, on Wednesday. Birla was one of five recipients honoured at the ceremony marking the institution's founding in 1836.
