The sight of women officers flying sorties in Operation Sindoor — in the wake of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that claimed lives of 26 civilians — was a "matter of immense pride" for the nation and a testament to the Indian Constitution's transformative promise of equality, liberty, justice and fraternity, Chief Justice of India Bhushan R Gavai has said.

Delivering an address at London's historic Gray's Inn on Thursday evening to commemorate 75 years of the Indian Constitution, CJI Gavai invoked the memory of Dr BR Ambedkar, who was one of Gray's Inn's most illustrious alumni.
