Sonbhadra stone quarry collapse toll climbs to 6

The toll in the stone quarry collapse in Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra district climbed to six on Monday as five more bodies were recovered from the rubble, even as efforts continued to rescue the remaining trapped workers at the site, officials aware of the details said.

“Six bodies have been recovered so far,” Uttar Pradesh labour minister Anil Rajbhar said. The five bodies recovered on Monday have been identified as Raju Singh Gond (40), a resident of Amerinia-Panari in Obra; Santosh Yadav (30) and Indrajit Yadav (32), both residents of Karamsar; Ravindra alias Nanak (18), a resident of
Kachnarwa; and Ramkhelawan from Kachnarava.
