Union home minister Amit Shah arrived in Jammu on Sunday, commencing his three-day visit to Jammu & Kashmir to review the union territory's security scenario and developmental works.
JAMMU:
Shah's visit to J&K is his first following the formation of the Omar Abdullah-led National Conference government on October 16 last year. "The home minister was received at the airport by the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha. He then headed to Raj Bhavan. Around 8.30pm, he is likely to meet party MLAs at the BJP headquarters," a senior official said, requesting anonymity.
On Monday, Shah will visit the Border Security Force (BSF) outpost Vinay in Kathua district at 10.30am to assess the ground situation there, officials said.
He will then meet the family members of slain Jammu & Kashmir police officers at the Raj Bhavan in Jammu at 2pm, and present job letters to relatives selected on compassionate grounds.
