Nitish set to hit Bihar poll trail with 80 rallies
Hindustan Times Bengaluru
|October 23, 2025
Chief minister Nitish Kumar may address 80 rallies across Bihar as he is set to launch the ruling alliance’s elections blitz, JD (U) leaders aware of the matter said on Wednesday.
The party, however, was yet to announce a formal schedule of rallies by the Bihar CM.
To be sure, Kumar had addressed 161 rallies in the 2020 Assembly elections. Party leaders attribute the fewer meetings this time to the narrow campaigning window as the party has to make up for time lost due to important festivals such as Chhath.
In 2020, when elections were held in three phases under the shadow of Covid-19 pandemic, the CM had held around 102 public meetings not only for the JD-U candidates but also for allies. Besides, he addressed 59 meetings virtually from the JD-U headquarters in Patna.
