H'wood Urges Trump to Defend AI Copyright Protections

Over 400 figures in the entertainment industry have written an open letter to US President Donald Trump's administration to resist pressure from tech companies that seek to weaken copyright regulations on artificial intelligence (AI).

Signees included singer-songwriter Paul McCartney, filmmakers Ava DuVernay, Taika Waititi, actor-producer Cate Blanchett, actor Mark Ruffalo, and actor-filmmaker Ben Stiller. According to The Wrap, the strongly-worded letter comes after tech giants OpenAI and Google responded to President Trump's call for an AI action plan last week.
