PITHORAGARH: The winter edition of Adi Kailash Yatra will likely be postponed due to unprecedented chill and freezing water, officials familiar with the matter said.
Kriti Chandra Arya, Pithoragarh district tourist official, said: "We had planned to host the winter edition of the Adi Kailash Yatra from December 15 this year till January 15, 2025. However, due to frequent clouds, unprecedented chill and freezing water at the Adi Kailash site, the department is considering to rethink on it."
"The yatra, that was earlier planned from November 15, had to be postponed till December 15 due to no snowfall conditions. It will now probably be postponed again due to high snowfall," the official said.
