Historic bridge is back to how it once looked

REPAIR work on a historic bridge in Heywood is finally complete.
Queen’s Park Bridge has been transformed from a crumbling eyesore into a replica of what it would have looked like when it was first unveiled in 1933.
The £4.5m scheme, which started in January 2024, included major structural repairs and the resurfacing of the pathways and road.
New pedestrian railings and kerbs were installed and the parapets have been replaced.
The bridge has stood since the 1930s, but the road name has since changed from Williams Street to Queen’s Park Road.
