Volunteers have driven halfway to the moon delivering aid to Ukraine

And Ukrainian Action-Team Devon reached another milestone by sending its 100th vehicle last month as volunteer drivers have clocked up 125,000 miles in three years in their bid to support humanitarian efforts on the front line.

“What motivates us are the heartbreaking stories,” says Adam Steward, a volunteer for Ukrainian Action-Team Devon. “One of our ambulances we drove out recently had its windows blown out, when a Russian missile exploded in a school playground in Zaporizhzhia city.

“It was targeting a community that had already relocated due to air strikes and Russian occupation. We've driven out replacement glass for this ambulance so it can be repaired.”

With Russia's invasion now in its fifth year, the last 12 months have been the deadliest for civilians, with more than 10 million needing humanitarian assistance.
