Sun shines down as Gulls get win at Buckland in first friendly outing

It was roasting as Torquay United beat Buckland Athletic 3-0 at Homers Heath on Saturday afternoon with the goals scored by Dylan Morgan and Jordan Young.
In the stifling heat, manager Paul Wotton gave run outs to as many players as he could, with only Callum Dolan and Sonny Fish sitting this one out.
The first-half team was strong, and the Gulls went ahead through the impressive Dylan Morgan in the 15th minute when the midfielder pounced on the free ball after Jordan Thomas's strike was slowed down by bodies on its way to goal.
Jordan Young was running the Buckland defenders ragged down the left hand side and when he took the ball into the box in the 26th minute he was tripped. Matt Carson had already had an early penalty appeal turned down. This one was undeniable. Young scored from the spot with a confident strike.
