Prep school prepares for the start of a new era
Herald Express
|June 04, 2025
A SOUTH Devon prep school that has remained in the same family since it was founded more than 30 years ago is entering uncharted territory - by handing over the reins to someone new.
-
Carl Shuttleworth has been appointed head of St Christopher's Prep School and Nursery in Staverton, near Totnes, becoming the first person outside the founding family to lead the school.
Established in 1991 by Jane Kenyon and her husband Greg, the school has long prided itself on its close-knit, family-run ethos. Their daughter, Alexandra Cottell, has been head in recent years, continuing the Christian values at the heart of the school.
