ASHBURTON are neck-and-neck with Cornwood II at the top of the C West table after condemning Brixham to a 91-run defeat at Boundary Park.
Aditya More, back for a follow-up season with Ashburton was easily the man of the match on either side with runs and wickets.
More (79) and skipper Lloyd White (73) were Ashes’ main run getters in a total of 240 for seven. They put on 87 for the seventh wicket.
Lee Upham (2-35) was Brixham's leading wicket taker. Rhys Dallow (1-23) kept an end bottled-up.
Brixham got to 132 for three without too many issues, other than those posed by Matt Churchill (3-38) thanks to runs from Richard Ward (37), Dallow (31) and Tim Robinson (31). Then the wheels came off.
More (4-33) and Nick Martin (3-27) took seven wickets for 17 runs as Brixham crashed to 149 all out.
Cornwood Il’s early season form continued with a 78-run win over newly promoted Ipplepen I.
