Campaigning parents are calling on South Lanarkshire Council to release full details of a safety survey to justify scrapping their children's school bus.

A formal request has been submitted to the local authority's Education and Roads & Transportation department by Sandford parents with pupils at Strathaven Academy.

As reported previously by the Advertiser, following a mileage review, the council took the decision to withdraw all school transport from Sandford to Strathaven Academy-a move branded "unsafe, unfair and shortsighted" by parents in the South Lanarkshire village.

They say their children are being forced to walk two miles to school along a "dangerous", narrow, unlit 60mph country road.
