UAE likely to receive rain for two more days

Light to heavy rain fell on various parts of the country on Sunday, including Hail, Mohamed Bin Zayed City in Fujairah, Kalba, Washah (south of Al Dhaid in Sharjah], Saih Al Saadi, and Adhan (south of Ras Al Khaimah).

Rain is expected to continue in some inland and southern areas, as well as on the islands, on Monday and Tuesday.

This is due to an extension of a surface low-pressure system accompanied by a low-pressure system in the upper atmosphere.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has urged the public to exercise caution during periods of heavy rain and strong winds in certain eastern regions.

Such conditions could result in loose objects being blown around and reduced visibility.

They should also avoid areas prone to landslides and flooding. Various areas in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi are expected to experience intermittent rain of varying intensity until Tuesday, October 14.

Abu Dhabi city may also experience light to moderate rain in scattered and limited areas, which may spread to the surrounding areas.

This could be accompanied by moderate to strong winds and clouds.

The Abu Dhabi Police urged drivers to exercise caution in rainy conditions and adhere to the displayed speed limits.
