Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Ruler of Abu Dhabi and National Security Adviser, said that the forty-nine years ago, the UAE undertook a historic and strategic decision to unify its Armed Forces - an initiative rooted in the Founding Leaders' conviction that true national security can only be ensured through a unified, cohesive, and highly capable military establishment.

In a statement marking the 49th anniversary of the unification of the UAE Armed Forces, Sheikh Tahnoon noted that the UAE Founding Fathers firmly believed that development was impossible without security.
