|April 16, 2025
A Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday announced a special package for overseas Pakistanis, including the establishment of special courts for the speedy disposal of their cases.
-
Addressing the Overseas Pakistanis Convention in Islamabad, the prime minister expressed deep appreciation for the contributions and patriotism of overseas Pakistanis.
“Overseas Pakistanis are our crown jewels,” he said, adding that more than IO million Pakistanis live abroad and are sending billions of dollars back home.
He highlighted their role in raising Pakistan's flag worldwide and said no concessions are enough to repay their efforts.
Shahbaz also condemned anti-Pakistan rhetoric in the UK, particularly targeting martyrs. Quoting the Holy Quran, he said, “Do not call the martyrs dead.”
He urged the diaspora to counter such narratives respectfully.
He pledged political and diplomatic support for the people of Kashmir and Gaza, stating that “in Gaza, 50,000 of our brothers and sisters have been martyred, and ceasefire agreements are being blatantly violated.”
Shahbaz expressed deep appreciation for the commitment, hardwork, and sacrifices of overseas Pakistanis, calling them the “crown of the nation” and announced a comprehensive package of reforms, incentives, and recognition for their contributions.
