Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has said that it is sad when State institutions and politicians call each other mentally ill or consider each other a threat.

Reacting to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) director general Lt-Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry's presser, the PTI chief took to his social media account to write that he has always hoped that tensions would decrease and relations would improve. This presser is disappointing, he said, adding that Pakistan's defence is important.

Gohar Ali Khan said that PTI's narrative is that it is neither an enemy of the country, nor will it be. "Pakistan is also ours and the army is also ours. We have demonstrated this practically and will continue to do so."

It is time for everyone, he said, to accept each other and give space and end the lack of trust. He made an appeal to all democratic forces to play a role in reducing tensions.

"I appeal that some non-stakeholders should not become a cause of tension between the PTI and institutions. The founder of PTI and Bushra Bibi are in jail. If meetings with them are allowed, we will move towards improvement. The country cannot afford tension and chaos," Gohar Ali Khan said.

Separately, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja also posted his careful reaction on his X account and wrote, "A panic reaction is not a political strategy."
