Khorfakkan stun Al Jazira, Sharjah held

ABU DHABI: Tarik Tissoudali's 38th-minute goal was the difference in Khorfakkan's I-O win over Al Jazira in matchweek 19 of the Adnoc Pro League on Friday.

This win made Khorfakkan rank seventh with 27 points, just three points behind the top four, while Al Jazira are fourth with 30 points.

Khorfakkan needed 38 minutes to open the scoring when Aylton Filipe turned on the afterburners on the counter.

He set up Tarik Tissoudali, who put his foot through it to beat Ali Khaseif.

Tissoudali has been involved in five goals for Khorfakkan in five games, scoring two and swinging up three assists.

Ilyees Lagrimi scored the equalizer for Al Jazira in the 81st minute, but the goal was ruled out due to an offside.

Meanwhile, Sharjah and Shabab Al Ahli shared the spoils in the top-of-the-table game.

The draw secured the seven-point gap for Shabab Al Ahli at the top of the table, while Sharjah are second with 41 points.
