Gimenez’s late strike lifts Al Wasl over Al Jazira

In a match filled with intensity, drama, and high stakes, it was Nicolas Gimenez who emerged as the hero for Al Wasl, netting a dramatic last-minute winner following a costly error by Al Jazira’s goalkeeper, Stojan Lekovic.

The highly anticipated semi-final clash kicked off with both teams displaying attacking intent from the outset.

Al Jazira thought they had taken an early lead just nine minutes into the game when Brazilian forward Vinicius Mello found the back of the net. However, their celebrations were short-lived as the goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR review, denying the visitors an ideal start and shifting the momentum back to Al Wasl.
