The Communist Party of India (Marxist), which leads Kerala's ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), has condemned the federal agencies investigating corruption allegations against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's daughter and top aide.

The Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) recently lodged charges against Veena Vijayan, alleging that she unlawfully received Rs 27.8 million from a publicly listed company in exchange for services never provided.
In a significant development last week, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered a case following a directive from the High Court over accusations of the illicit accumulation of wealth against KM Abraham, who serves as Vijayan's chief principal secretary and heads the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Board (KIIFB).
