Al Bataeh secured a vital 1-0 away win over Al Nasr in Matchweek 19 of the ADNOC Pro League at Al Maktoum Stadium on Thursday.
-
The hosts were reduced to 10 men in the 65th minute when Mohammed Juma Eid calmly finished from inside the box after a spell of pressure from the visitors.
Al Bataeh had already come close earlier in the match, with the post denying them a goal in the 6th minute.
Al Nasr had their golden chance to equalise midway through the first half, but a missed penalty by Ali Mabkhout in the 35th minute kept Al Bataeh ahead.
Just ten minutes later, the visitors made that miss count, taking the lead through Juma Eid's composed finish.
The second half saw Al Bataeh maintain their attacking edge.
They were awarded a penalty in the 71st minute, but Dawid Bangaes failed to convert, missing the opportunity to seal the match.
Al Nasr thought they had drawn level in the 82nd minute, but the goal was disallowed due to a foul.
Despite late pressure from the hosts, Al Bataeh held firm to see out the match and walk away with three valuable points.
