IPADS, MACBOOKS, HEADPHONES, SMART WATCHES AND PHONES PROHIBITED
As final exams for the third academic term began yesterday, public schools across the UAE issued strict guidelines on the use of electronic devices.
All students, regardless of gender, are strictly prohibited from bringing or using five electronic devices during the exam period. These are tablets such as iPads), MacBooks, all types of headphones and earbuds, smartwatches and phones.
School administrations consider these devices potential sources of cheating or distraction. Only official ministry-issued devices are allowed during the exams. Students must adhere to the following rules when using these devices:
■ The official exam platform Asas must be installed.
■ No social media apps or VPN software may be downloaded.
■ Devices should be charged before arriving at school.

US Dollar – The view after the fall
We started 2025 as US Dollar bears and, thus far, the year has borne out as we expected. At its trough, the US Dollar Index (the 'DXY') fell by over 10 per cent since the start of the year before staging a modest rebound in recent months. This move has been driven by a combination of somewhat-mistaken 'De-dollarisation' fears and the more mundane driver of lower interest rates. Is Dollar weakness now behind us, or is this only the start of a larger move lower? We are of the view that further weakness is yet ahead, albeit after a breather.
