Licence requirements for educators outlined

Ministry reiterates rules for teachers, school principals and professionals

The Ministry of Education has reiterated that obtaining a professional education licence has been a mandatory requirement to practise the teaching profession in the UAE since 2021.

The ministry outlined three types of professional licences based on job roles:

Teacher licence: It covers teachers across various disciplines, including subject teachers, activity instructors, kindergarten teachers, special education, and vocational education.

School leadership licence: For school principals and their deputies at all levels.

School professionals licence: Applies to non-teaching specialised roles such as learning resource specialists, lab technicians, librarians, academic and career counselors, and classroom assistants.
