America's space programme, once a global symbol of ambition and leadership, is now facing a severe crisis triggered by a public feud between US President Donald Trump and Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX.

This conflict has exposed Nasa’s vulnerability, as it relies heavily on SpaceX for its most critical missions.

SpaceX is currently Nasa’s sole provider, capable of transporting astronauts and supplies to the International Space Station (ISS).
