Dubai enlists airlines in its cashless push

Emirates, flydubai ink deals to simplify digital payments for tourists visiting UAE

Emirates and flydubai have signed new agreements with Dubai’s Department of Finance (DOF) to support the city’s push towards becoming a fully cashless economy — with a special focus on international visitors.

The two airlines signed separate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with DOF to help promote and simplify the use of digital payments by tourists arriving in Dubai.

The partnerships are part of the Dubai Cashless Strategy, which aims to make more than 90 per cent of all payments across government and private sectors fully digital by the end of 2026.
