Fog can pose significant risks on UAE’s roads, which are wide and designed for speed.

The problem is exacerbated during peak morning hours when people are commuting to work. Heavy traffic increases the danger as even a single mistake can trigger a pileup, especially on busy roads.

Fog is most common from November to May, especially between 3am and 9am. Accidents are common on busy highways like Mohammad Bin Zayed Road, Shaikh Zayed Road and Emirates Road.
