CHELTENHAM Harriers Under-13 and Under-15s maintained their position at the top of the Midland Premier League after the long trip to Swansea in round two of the National Youth Development League, maintaining their quest to qualify for the national finals.
-
Cheltenham led throughout the match, pulling clear to win by 65.5 points over Cardiff Athletics in second.
Under-15 Hugo Bucher maintained his position at the top of the UK age group rankings in javelin, putting in a massive throw of 64.33m to break his own club record and to set a new league record, and in the B string, Theo Nock, in his first year with the Harriers, threw 49.49m and sits fourth in the UK rankings - the next longest throw on the day was under 30m.
Also in the Under-15 boys, there was a double win at 1500m, Jack Shingler winning the A string in 4:28.66, and Noah Seabright the B in 4:46.03.
In the long jump, Will Robinson just missed out on an A win, coming second with 5.23m; Austin Harris winning the B with 4.70m.
